Dear Microsoft:

I am operating Internet Explorer 8 on my Vista Home Premium platform. The main issue I am experiencing right now is the "Reopen Last Browsing Session" from the Tools Menu. It is opening all my saved tabs in reverse order, not the exact way it was originally
set-up by me in my last browsing session.
Example: Originally ABC, but when I "Reopen", it reorders my tabs as CBA. Is there a work around or patch to resolve this issue? Thank you!

Sorry for the delay. I was able to recreate the problem with multiple windows, tabs. However, this is the way IE8 build and won't be change anytime soon. You can revert back to IE7 using my instructions above.

Machine Throttling

Go to the Start button.
In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
Restart your system.

Calculating Months

I have 2 variables; Effective Date in Column A & Duration in Column B.

I have a project that starts 1/1/2013 and has a duration of 36 months:
Column C needs to show 12 for the active months in Calendar Year 13.

Column D needs to show 12 for the active months in Calendar Year 14.

Column E needs to show 12 for the active months in Calendar Year 15.

My projects will never go over 36 months, but could be less i.e.:

I have a project that starts 6/1/2013 and runs for 18 months.

Column C should show 7 for the active months in Calendar Year 13.

Column D should show 11 for the active months in Calendar Year 14.

Column E would be zero.

What would the formulas be in Column C, D, & E for my many projects?

Assuming the dates in column A are the first dates of any month, try these formulas

1.
In cell C1, enter this formula

=MIN(12-MONTH(A1)+1,B1)

2.
In cell D1, enter this formula

=IF(EDATE(A1,24)-1<=EDATE(A1,B1)-1,12,MONTH(EDATE(A1,B1)-1))

3.
In cell E1, enter this formula

=B1-SUM(C1:D1)

I have a Dell Inspiron 5520 with Windows 7 that I bought about a year ago.
Since March of this year, I have been plagued with blue screen errors that have at times made my laptop unusable.
Most blue screens are preceded by some programs crashing(notably
internet browsers).

The most common Blue Screen errors are:

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT
BAD_POOL_HEADER
PFN_LIST_CORRUPT

and most recently PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.

For the first couple months or so, I would merely update drivers and the problem would be fixed, however, it would pop up again 3-4 weeks later.
Most recently, updating the drivers have not helped.
I looked online and thought that bad RAM could be the
issue, but I had my laptop looked at, and it passed all diagnostics.
I did learn that I had accidentally installed AVG onto my laptop when I already had anti-virus software on it.

After uninstalling AVG, the problems once again went away for several weeks, only to return with greater frequency in the past week or so.
I'm running out of options for what the problems could be, and with school coming up, am desperate to get my laptop
back in working condition.

I need some help with this,
When I open Internet Explorer (my only browser intalled on my pc) I recieve a BSOD with very generic errors (0X0000000abc) etc.
Internet Explorer is the only program that will cause a BSOD, but there are other programs such as Adobe Bridge, Photoshop etc
that will throw a message saying the file is currupt and to perform a ChkDsk.
This is a very user based problem - as logging in to the built in Administrator account there are no problems.
I am also an Administrator on my pc (the user account it is happening
to - there is just 'Me' and the built in Administrator account).
I performed a DskChk and there were no problems found.
I have ALWAYS kept my computer up-to-date with Anti-Virus AND Microsoft uodates etc.
I restarted my computer as the BSOD said "If this the first time you have seen this message (which it is) restart
your computer".
So, I restarted, only to find I recieved a message saying "Your computer has recovered from a serious error".
I have never seen this message before and only to find my .jpg files, .jpeg files, and .rw2 files had been currupted!
I found some instructions online to clear out the Minidump files to remove the "Serious error" message when I log on, and since then I have not recieved the error message.
However, I still have the BSOD message every time I start IE.
I found some more instructions
on the BSOD and IE complication, so I cleared the Pagefile at shutdown.
My computer took an age to shutdown and restert (normal average boot time before this problem was about 15 seconds to logon screen).
I tried to open IE, but no luck.
I also discovered that my 'C' drive was "Full".
I put the work "Full" in quotes because
before I cleared the pagefile I had about 20GB free on my 'C' Drive (I have 4 drives in total: C= OS + programs X= Documents and Settings (By a registry edit) Y= Videos and Virtual OS's and Z= Pictures).
So, I had no luch there, and now I'm recieving the "Low disk space" message, so I tried a System restore.
Turns out, when you have less than 20% disk space, System restore turns off automatically (I didn't know this).
Adobe Bridge, Photoshop and IE were
stil not happy.
So, I created myself another account (IE worked fine, but Adobe products didn't) Everyting on my computer is genuine.
I prepared myself to do a repair of the OS (seeing it was a User problem), only to find a BSOD when I clicked enter to perform the repair! This means, I can not do a repair or a clean install on my PC from the disk.
I did another virus, rootkit, malware and HIPS scan (I have Sophos Anti-Virus), an everything came out clean After 6 hours! (1TB HD's takes a while to scan in depth).
I tried opening other programs, ALL of Office 2007 had a problem with the "normal" document, with Outlook having difficulity to open emails.
I don't know what to do! My pictures are currupted, Office 2007, all Adobe products having problems (But IE being increadbly slow - It never used to be, It used to be one of the fastest programs on my PC).
I know you get BSOD to prevent your hardware getting
damaged (I have 4 HDD's, 4GB Memory, Dual Core Intel processer, and 2 screens!), but can be caused by software.
Otherwise, I will buy Windows 7 and try a clean install (The W7 check passed with flying colours - well, one colour actually, just green!)
Any help at all would be very appreciated.
This had been happening for about 1 week now.

Browser closes when I am trying to read.

When I am reading something on the screen browser, after few minutes window closes itself, (because there is no activity on the screen).
I have to hit enter or space bar to open it.
How do I avoid this and make window stay open for longer, without closing
it by itself? This problem started nearly a week ago.

Situation:
User is attempting to add an attachment of an excel filetype while excel is running.
To recreate:
Open Excel 2013, create a new document.
No need to save.Open Outlook 2013Create new e-mail.Select "Insert", "Attach file"
Activate preview pane.
Select Excel file, thereby activating the preview of that file.
Result: The open blank Excel-document takes focus.

This is not the case with the regular Windows Explorer (not attach-dialogue), nor is it the case with Word documents when using the attachment-dialogue.

I cannot find an option which this corresponds to, so I suspect that it is a bug.

I have verified that the bug is the same on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.
