Solution to Error: Desktop goes blank upon restart or reboot in Windows 7

Desktop goes blank upon restart or reboot in Windows 7

I have built my own custom PC.  The components are as follows:
Windows 7 64-Bit Home Professional; Intel Core i7-3820 Processor;
Thermaltake Contac 30 CPU Cooler;
ASUS P9X79 Motherboard; Corsair Neutron 256GB SSD (Master);
G.SKILL Ripjaws X 16GB RAM; MSI GeForce GTX 650 Video Card; Western Digital 1.0 GB Hard Drive (Slave);
Lite-On LightScribe DVD/CD Optical Drive; and a Thermaltake 600W PSU.

Recently, the abovementioned problem has reoccurred.  I thought that I may have had it resolved with the removal of a file by the name of “susch.”
This seemed to work for awhile, but the glitch is back.  I have run both “sfc /scannow” as well as a MalWarebytes deep scan, but the annoyance persists.
May someone kindly have an intelligent solution to offer me?

[Mod Edit : Adding info from a duplicate thread]

Desktop continues to go blank upon restart or reboot of Windows 7.
Dear Mr.
Mohanty,
          About the only item that you suggested which I thought might be helpful was the link provided for my video card driver situation, and it seemed to briefly help.  If I restart and boot-up in "Safe Mode," I have no internet access.
          With that said, the original problem continues, namely that my
desktop goes blank upon restart or reboot in Windows 7.  In addition to whatever may be the annoying reason for this, if I have Mozilla Firefox (my preferred browser) open for internet work, etc., and then choose to close it in order to take a break for
personal reasons, upon returning to my PC and attempting to access the internet via Firefox, it is non-responsive and/or frozen, obligating me to do a "Restart," and then the blank desktop returns.

          As for the “susch” file, it was never anything I downloaded or was at all aware of until it inserted itself by means unknown to me.
I seem to have permanently eradicated this bogus file.

          Today, I was finally able to discover an answer for “How do I delete a file from my Startup list?”
I did not want an answer for disabling; I wanted and obtained an answer for deleting, as some new piece of garbage named “aprnse” recently (I do not know exactly when) inserted itself into my machine.

          My next question, which I have researched to no satisfaction whatsoever, is to know how to increase the size of the “System Configuration” window, which the almighty Microsoft, in their infinite and grand pooh-bah wisdom,
has opted to have viewable as one ridiculous size that apparently cannot be expanded in any way.

          Therefore, once again, may someone kindly have an intelligent solution to offer me?

Hi Greg,

This issue could be due to some non-Microsoft application installed on the computer.
It may also happen due to issues with the display driver installed on the computer.

Please assist us with the following information related to the issue:
1) Is the file “susch” related to an application that you might have installed on the computer? If yes, which is the application?
2) Do you find the issue when you restart or boot to the computer from a sleep or hibernate mode?
3) Did you install any software/application on the computer prior to this issue?

Let’s check if you face the same issue when you boot to the computer in safe mode.
You can follow the methods:

Method 1:
Follow the steps:
Step 1:
Refer to the link to boot to the computer in safe mode:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7

If the issue does not persists, move ahead with step 2.

Step 2:
Let’s check for the non-Microsoft application that is causing the issue by placing the computer in clean boot state.

To help troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs.
This kind of startup is known as a "clean boot." A clean
boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

You can refer to the link to place the computer in clean boot state:
“How to perform a clean boot to troubleshoot a problem in Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8”
Refer to the section “Windows 7 and Windows Vista”
You can refer to the section “How to determine what is causing the problem by performing a clean boot” to check for the application or program that is causing this issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: Please refer to the section:
How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot
of the Kb article to boot the computer in normal startup after fixing the issue.

Method 2:
I would suggest you to check for the updates on the display driver for the display card installed.
To do so, you can refer to MSI website.
Here’s the link to download and install the latest driver for display card:
http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N650-1GD5-OC.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7 64

Please let us know about results.
We will be happy to assist you further.
