can't download windows update, can't install service pack 1

Need help.  few problems here:

(1) my laptop sometimes suddently switch to the blue screen with some error message running ( too fast to record it) and shut down itself and restart again.

(2) Windows update will tell me there are some updates available.
but when i click on " install updates" it will stay on the downloading....
always at 0%..
never download or install anything.

(3) trying to google online for the above error, and someone suggested maybe need service pack 1 to be installed.
so download it, however, when ever trying to install it - it wlll stop and says " the windwos service pack 1 was not installed successfully" and
with error : 0x800f0902

(4) also from the google, i was trying to do system restore,.
it says C: local drive has error, could not perform too..

I'd recommend you follow these steps and check if the issue persists.
Step 1:
Disable automatic restart on system failure.
This way your computer will not go into reboot loop and also you would be able to note down the
error message.
Then boot your computer in
safe mode and check if the issue occurs.

Manually editing the Windows registry to remove invalid MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION keys is not recommended unless you are PC service professional. To manually repair your Windows registry, first you need to create a backup by exporting a portion of the registry related to MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION (eg. Windows Operating System):

• Click the Start button.
• Type "command" in the search box... DO NOT hit ENTER yet!
• While holding CTRL-Shift on your keyboard, hit ENTER.
• You will be prompted with a permission dialog box.
• Click Yes.
• A black box will open with a blinking cursor.
• Type "regedit" and hit ENTER.
• In the Registry Editor, select the Error 0x9C-related key (eg. Windows Operating System) you want to back up.
• From the File menu, choose Export.
• In the Save In list, select the folder where you want to save the Windows Operating System backup key.
• In the File Name box, type a name for your backup file, such as "Windows Operating System Backup".
• In the Export Range box, be sure that "Selected branch" is selected.
• Click Save.
• The file is then saved with a .reg file extension.
• You now have a backup of your MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION-related registry entry.
