After installing Win 8.1 pro, audio does not work.

After installing Win 8.1 pro for students my audio does not work.
I click o.
The speaker in the corner and see the bar moving for audio but I hear nothing for speakers or headphone jack.
When running Win 7 the audio worked fine, does it make any difference
if my laptop has Beats audio?
