I've recently installed IE8 on my XP-Pro SP3 PC but, despite having all the relevant AutoComplete options set and checking that the Username is actually stored in the registry ( using IE Pass View from www.nirsoft.net ), IE 8 resolutely refuses to display
the stored Username when I start to type it in on, for example, the googlemail.com webpage. 
I'm fairly happy that I'm following ALL the rules and I've tried just about every fix/workaround/hack that I can find online - all to no avail.
It's also fairly obvious that large numbers of people have the same problem.
Surely there's some kind of Microsoft tracing facility that would allow us to determine exactly what's happening here 
rather than having so many people chasing their tails like this without success ?

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

• Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
• Click on Boot Tab
• Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
• Select Network.
• Click Apply and OK.
• Reboot your System.
