Can't add recovery console because I am running WIN XP SP3 which is newer than my original version of XP

I am trying to run recovery console on my computer using the RUN  D:\i386\winnt32 /cmdcons command.  My installation disk of WIN XP is before any service packs.  I get a message I can't perform this because I am running a newer ver of WIN than the installation
disk.  How can I add recovery console; or for that matter run recovery console if I have a problem-if my disk is no longer good?

Since your installation disk is pre-service pack, there are a couple of things that will need to be done after recovery (R)
- Service packs will need to be reinstalled.
- Any previously applied windows updates will need to be reapplied.

In this method we will try to Boot in Safe mode with Networking and see if the error still persists.

• Search "MSCONFIG" and Open.
• Click on Boot Tab
• Tick Safe Boot in Boot Option
• Select Network.
• Click Apply and OK.
• Reboot your System.
