Word 2007 template not saving to correct folder
I create a template, click Save as Template, and it does not change folder, instead saving in the folder from which I copied the ordinary .docx.
So, when looking to use the template, it does not appear in the template options at the start.
Call me a dummy,
but I am having trouble establishing which folder I should be saving into so that the template is available when I click 'New'.
Thanks in advance.

In Word 2007 and above, Word does not automatically save templates in the Templates folder (evidently a response to user demand to be able to save templates anywhere).
The default folder for templates is the one where Normal.dotm is stored.
You can find
the path for this from Office Button | Word Options | Advanced | File Locations | User Templates, but if you haven't changed it, it will be C:\Users\
Once you have found it, you may want to
add it to your Favorites in the folder bar for ease of saving new templates there.
When you go to Office Button | New, you'll have to select "My templates..." to get to your custom templates.
You may find it easier to add the
New Document or Template button to your Quick Access Toolbar.
This will take you directly to the classic New dialog.
