Windows Vista Home Premium x64 Constant Blue Screen
I have been receiving BSODs constantly.
This is my most recent encounter: STOP: 0x0000000A (0xFFFFFA0001766690, 0x000000000000000C, 0x0000000000000001, 0xFFFFF8000207A984).
There have been many more, but I have not been able to document the error.
I have tried a clean install, new hard drive and the problems still exist.
This happens while doing the easiest of tasks: downloading music in iTunes and researching about another
BSOD.
Has this happened to anyone else? If so, do you know how to fix it? Help is appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi,
Did you update drivers manually per the methods above? Running update drivers and driver checking
programs will just not usually get the job done properly.
Whatever your present antivirus is go to their site and get their removal tools and use it to completely
remove it.
Also download and install Avast and Prevx so you have protection while you troubleshoot.
Download them, uninstall your present antivirus - REBOOT and then install Avast - REBOOT - then
install Prevx and REBOOT.
Start at top of list again and run the Nirsoft utility to see all the error codes
and post them in here for current ones.
Avast - Home - Free - stop any shields you do not need except leave Standard, Web, and Network running.
(Double Click Blue icon - details next to OK.
- upper left Shields - Terminate those you do not use.)
http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
Prevx - Home - Free small, fast, exceptional CLOUD protection, works with other security programs.
This is
a scanner only, VERY EFFECTIVE, if it finds something come back here or use Google to see how to remove.

PCmag - Prevx - Editor'a Choice

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only.
If you ever suspect malware, and that would be unsual with
Avast and Prevx running except for an occasional low level cookie (no big deal), UPDATE it and then run it as
a scanner.
I have many scanners and they never find anything of note since I started using this setup.

Hope this helps.
Rob - Bicycle - Mark Twain said it right.
- Go to the Start button.
- In the Search box, type "regedit" (without quotes) and press Enter.
- Look for the following registry key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ SQMClient\Windows\DisabledSessions".
- On the right window pane, delete the subkey: "Machine Throttling".
- Restart your computer.
