How to Resolve - A two drive system that ended up with the C: drive as System and Active and the D: drive as Boot and Active.?

A two drive system that ended up with the C: drive as System and Active and the D: drive as Boot and Active.

I have a two drive system that ended up with the C: drive as the System and Active drive and the D: drive as the Boot and Active drive.
I want to make the C: drive the BOOT and System drive without reinstalling (I have many applications on both drives
that have been updated frequently) Windows 7.  it was suggested that I use BCDBOOT.  When I try I get one of several error messages: 1) Failure when attempting to copy boot files and 2) checksum error.

Any ideas?
