Fast Solution to Error: Your system is running low on resources. You cannot log on as a new user...

Your system is running low on resources. You cannot log on as a new user...

After Windows Automagic (sic) Updates I could not log on and I also received this message "Your system is running low on resources.  You cannot log on as a new user.  Please use an account that has already logged on.
".  I had to run the system recovery
and recover my system to the last checkpoint.
Now I have, at last count, 8 updates.  Should I apply them one at a time and see which of them caused the problem?  A better question is why software from Microsoft would cause this problem.

I am running Windows 7 (64 bit), Home Premium.  Dell Studio 1745 with 4 GB RAM.

Download SmartPCFixer to Fix It (Free)

I would first try to filter the type of updates you are installing.
Exclude driver updates at all cost, any driver updates, check the manufacturers website, if the drive it is offering is already working just fine, don't bother installing it, instead, right
click the update in question and click Hide Update.
If the update is considered optional, don't bother installing it and hide it also.
Also, if you must install updates, download them first, disconnect from the Internet then install the updates.
Make sure you at least create a system restore point before doing so.
